LED strip lights are also known as LED tape light. They are made by soldering surface-mounted device (SMD) LEDs onto flexible print circuit (FPC) boards. When connected to a power source, they produce strip-shaped lighting.
To mount to dry and clean surfaces, a double-sided adhesive is applied to the backside of the PC board. These strips can be used in hundreds, and they can also be hidden so that you can create attractive and appealing lighting even in tight spaces. Each strip light can easily be cut and reconnected to create custom linear accent, task, or exterior lighting.
The major components of an LED strip are: FPC board, SMD LEDs and resistors.
Step 1: Search for the scissors logo on light strip
Manufacturers have added a logo for scissors to the cuttable portion of their LED strip lights. You must locate the scissors logo before you cut to avoid any damage.
Step 2: Cut with a pair scissors
Use your scissors to trim the excess strip at the location marked with the scissors logo. Inadvertently cutting diagonally can cause the light to stop working. Make sure you do not cut in a straight line.
Step 1:Buy the right connector
There are many options for strip light connectors. You need to select the one that is right for your light strip. The connector that you choose must fit a light strip 8mm in width. It will not work if your light strip measures 10mm in width and you buy a connector measuring 8mm.
If you find a cover on the connector, you will need to remove it.
The LED light strip should be inserted into the connector’s fastening clips. You should make sure they are not reversible at this point.
Step 4. Close the connector cover after you have placed the light strip. Check to make sure the strip lights up normally when the power supply has been connected. Adjust the connection point between the connectors and the light strip to see if the parts don’t light up.
Lumen is a unit of measurement that measures how much light can be produced. The brighter the light source, the higher the lumens produced. If the output is the same lumens, the lower the wattage, the higher the efficiency and the more power saving.
We recommend that the power supply use 80% of the maximum rated power. A power supply of this capacity can extend the life of the power supply and prevent the power supply from overheating. We need to consider the following factors:
Voltage: We have 12v and 24v strips to choose from, so you need to decide which spec to choose, otherwise the power supply won’t work.
Wattage: The wattage of the power supply determines how long strips of light you can supply. Therefore, you need to determine the wattage of the light strip you are using. The wattage of the light strip will be marked on our product page, in w/m or w/ft, and then multiply it by the length you want to use. Get the total wattage. The resulting total wattage is then divided by 0.8 to get the minimum power rating.
When we know the voltage and minimum wattage, we can choose the power supply we need.
CCT is the color presented by color at different temperatures. The unit of measurement of CCT is Kelvin, and the range is about 1000 to 10000. If CCT exceeds 6500k, the hue of light will become colder or bluer. The lower CCT, the hue of light will become warmer and yellower . Therefore, you can choose the lighting according to the atmosphere you want to decorate. If you want cool colors, you can choose high CCT, and if you want warm colors, you can choose low color temperature.

Cut points: 12v LED strips have half the distance between cut points compared to a 24v strip.
So if you have a lot of tight corners, the 12v option will be the better choice.
CRI is the effect of a light source on the color appearance of an object compared to a standard reference light source. The lower the CRI, the less effective the light will be, and it will give people a dull feeling. Of course, it will be cheaper. The higher the CRI, the more expensive the lamp will be, and the better the effect will be.
COB is the abbreviation of Chip on Board, which basically refers to the direct packaging of LED die on a circuit board (PCB). The “chip-on-board” LEDs are sometimes called as flip-chips, which are used on flexible light strips.
